Aswan Governor: Final preparations for holding the House of Representatives elections are completed

Aswan Governorate has completed its preparations for the launch of the first round of the 2025 House of Representatives elections, which will be held tomorrow and for two days, at the level of 4 electoral districts, during which 59 candidates will compete, divided into 17 candidates in the first district, headquartered at Aswan and Draw police stations, 5 candidates in the second district, headquartered at Kom Ombo Police Station, and 17 candidates in the third district, headquartered at Nasr El Nuba Police Station, And 20 candidates in the fourth district, headquartered at the Edfu Police Station, while the total number of voters entitled to vote reaches 1,122,806 voters.

Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, said during a press release issued today, Sunday, that all the various logistical capabilities have been harnessed to make it easier for voters to cast their votes, and he will also follow up in the field all the administrative and technical preparations that have been implemented inside and outside the 190 designated subcommittees. For the governorate within the 4 electoral districts in which the elections are held.

The governor indicated that all public cleaning work has been completed, and the efficiency of public toilets and public facilities such as electricity, drinking water and sanitation has been raised, while the degree of full readiness of the city ambulance and protection facility has been raised to create a safe atmosphere for voters. Adding that the committee headquarters and the electoral process will be monitored in real time from within the control center of the National Network for Emergency and Public Safety, with the implementation of the plan that was developed by the General Authority for Welfare branch. Health services to deal with any emergency events immediately.

The governor urged citizens to come out and participate in the electoral ceremony and exercise their constitutional right, and to cast their votes with complete freedom to choose who represents them and meets their demands and needs in the required manner.

In a related context, the issued statement indicated that Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, conducted an extensive field tour of a number of electoral committee headquarters, To ensure their complete readiness to receive voters, the tour included the committees of Abdul Majeed Hussein Preparatory Girls Schools, Mahfuza Mirghani Middle School, Saniya Taha Joint Primary School, Al-Hasaya School Complex, Dr. Souad Maher Hotel Secondary School, and Muhammad Munir Hussein Primary School, where he was accompanied by Yasser Abdel Shafi’i, Assistant Governor, and officials of the relevant authorities.

Dr. Ismail stressed Kamal stressed the need to achieve full integration and cooperation between all executive agencies, to ensure that the electoral process proceeds in an honorable manner befitting the status of Zahrat Al-Janoub, stressing that developing an integrated administrative plan to equip electoral headquarters is based on 4 main axes, which are security insurance through the Security Directorate, health insurance through health care and ambulance teams, securing facilities for all networks of drinking water, sanitation, and electricity, and ensuring civil protection by providing fire trucks at close distances from Committees.

The governor indicated that the role of the executive bodies is limited to equipping and preparing the committees and providing logistical support only, while adhering to complete neutrality and transparency towards all candidates without discrimination or bias, in addition to obligating any employee to take leave in the event of his candidacy, until the end of the electoral process, with directives to prevent advertising for any candidate in compliance with the electoral silence period, which is integrated with providing Wheelchairs for the elderly and those with special needs, and facilitating voters’ access to polling stations in a safe and comfortable environment.

The governor assigned the competent authorities to continue field visits to 190 electoral committees in various centers and cities to determine the final touches inside and outside the committees.
