The Prime Minister witnesses the signing of 55 memorandums of understanding in the field of outsourcing industry

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, testified this evening; The signing ceremony of a number of memorandums of understanding between the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) and 55 international and local companies to open new headquarters in Egypt, or increase the volume of their investments by expanding the scope of their centers’ operations in the Egyptian market, thus contributing to the creation of 70,000 new job opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, representatives of international and local companies, and a number Among the ambassadors of countries and leaders of the communications and information technology sector, these ceremonies were part of the activities of the Global Outsourcing Industry Summit currently hosted by Egypt, and held under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Information Technology Industry Development Authority “ITIDA”. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly praised the efficiency, ability and creativity of the Egyptian youth in relation to In the outsourcing industry, stressing that this is what contributed to attracting many international companies to open new headquarters in Egypt, or expand the activity and business of existing ones, taking advantage of the available Egyptian human capabilities and cadres.
Dr. Amr Talaat confirmed that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology launched the Digital Egypt Strategy in 2019, one of its most prominent goals is to transform the ICT sector from a service sector to a service and production sector, as efforts to achieve this goal included launching a strategy Digital Egypt is for developing the outsourcing industry, which aims to double Egypt’s contribution to the global outsourcing industry four times, so that Egypt becomes a destination where international companies find talent, flexibility and innovation that will enable them to achieve their global ambitions with confidence from Egypt to the world.
Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that the contribution of the communications and information technology sector to the gross domestic product has almost doubled over the past decade, and the sector continues to grow at a rate 3:4 times faster than the national average; He explained that in the last fiscal year, the Egyptian economy grew by 4.4%, while the sector is growing by rates ranging between 14% and 16%, strengthening its position as one of the strongest engines of the national economy.
Dr. Amr Talaat added that the Ministry provides programs to build the digital capabilities of approximately one million citizens annually to ensure their readiness for the digital economy; Explaining that the availability of a broad base of qualified competencies providing information technology services in multiple languages is an enabling factor for companies that allows them rapid expansion and business continuity.
Dr. Amr Talaat confirmed that investments worth $6 billion have been pumped into developing the digital infrastructure, which has resulted in Egypt topping the African continent in Internet speed for several consecutive years, and also coming in as the second lowest cost in Internet prices on the continent. Pointing to the efforts to connect the fiber optic network to 60 million citizens in 4,500 villages, which allows digital access throughout the republic and enables multinational companies to recruit talent outside Cairo through remote work.
Dr. Amr Talaat renewed the commitment of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Information Technology Industry Development Authority “ITIDA” And all entities affiliated with the Ministry provide channels for direct and continuous communication with investors at all stages of work, starting from establishment to growth, to provide full support and facilitate coordination with various government agencies.
Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that Egypt’s competitive elements, which combine qualified human resources, advanced digital infrastructure, and strategic geographical location, translate into a high competitive ability in providing digital services on a global level at distinguished operational costs; Adding that Egyptian competencies are characterized by professional stability and their ability to provide cross-border IT services in several languages. Pointing out that the Ministry has launched incentive packages that reward expansion, encourage export-oriented activities, and support operations in various areas of outsourcing, thus consolidating Egypt’s position as a strategic partner for growth for global institutions. He stressed that Egypt has become one of the most competitive destinations in the world for companies working in the field of outsourcing.
Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that in 2022, the Prime Minister witnessed the holding of a similar summit during which agreements were signed with 29 international companies that pledged to provide 34 thousand new job opportunities in Egypt to provide their services to their clients around the world. Explaining that this number has increased to 60 thousand new job opportunities that have been implemented until the end of 2024.
Dr. Amr Talaat added that this year’s summit witnesses the expansion of 55 international and local companies in their work inside Egypt, which contributes to providing more than 70 thousand new job opportunities within 3 years, explaining that there are 39 of these companies expanding their existing centers in Egypt, in clear evidence of the success of their operations and their confidence in their ability to expand, while 16 are entering Another company in the Egyptian market for the first time.
Dr. Amr Talaat concluded his speech by emphasizing that the future of global digital services begins in Egypt, led by young digital competencies to provide added value and distinction for companies from Egypt to the world.
