Trump denounces “corrupt journalists” at the BBC after the network’s director resigned over a montage of his speech.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday denounced the presence of “corrupt journalists” at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) after its general director resigned over a scandal related to the editing of a documentary about the Republican leader.

Trump said on his social platform, Truth Social, that “corrupt journalists” had been exposed, adding, “These are very dishonest people who tried to interfere in the presidential elections. On top of that, they are from a foreign country, which many consider our first ally. This is bad for democracy.”

The matter relates to a documentary broadcast by the BBC a week before the last US presidential elections, and it showed video clips that were merged from Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021, when he was accused of inciting his supporters to attack the Capitol building in an effort to keep him in power despite his loss to Democrat Joe Biden.
