“Eye from the Sky”.. Dubai employs drones to proactively manage its green spaces

During the “Future Cities Week” held at the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Municipality revealed the “Smart Municipal Eye” initiative, which relies on employing drones equipped with artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies to manage and follow up on municipal work, in cooperation with the company “Sky High UAV”.

The municipality signed a memorandum of understanding to expand the scope of the use of drones in various operational and field operations, including monitoring and managing green spaces, enhancing sustainability, and raising the efficiency of supervisory and service practices in the emirate.

The municipality explained that the initiative aims to make drones a “smart eye” from the sky that allows the municipality to monitor vegetation, analyze its condition through artificial intelligence systems, and predict maintenance needs before challenges arise, which contributes to improving the efficiency of resource management, reducing waste, and achieving proactive management of the urban environment.
