Abdullah bin Zayed condemns the targeting of civilian infrastructure and civilian facilities in the region

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemned in the strongest terms the targeting, or threat of targeting, civilian infrastructure and civilian facilities in the region, including schools, universities, hospitals, water networks, energy facilities, transportation centers, and residential areas. This constitutes a clear and grave violation of the provisions of international law and its established principles, and can in no way be accepted or justified. These attacks resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as the terrorization of millions of civilians.
His Highness pointed out that turning energy facilities, ports, airports, and international sea lanes into military targets not only threatens a specific country, but also exposes the stability of the global economy and vital supply chains to serious risks, and undermines regional and international security. His Highness stressed that civilian infrastructure is not a battlefield, and that targeting it constitutes a dangerous transgression and a red line that cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. His Highness stressed the need to immediately stop these practices, and to strictly commit to protecting civilian lives and preserving civilian facilities, warning of the serious repercussions of the continuation of these violations.
