The Iranians are begging for an agreement and we are working to control the Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that the Iranians very much want to reach an agreement. In an exclusive phone interview with Israel’s Channel 14, Trump said: “The Iranians desperately want to reach an agreement and are begging for it.”

Trump stressed that the United States is “already working to control the Strait of Hormuz.”

In response to a question about the level of coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump explained that relations are at their peak, adding: “Coordination is very close, and our relationship is good. It cannot be better than that.”

Trump said on Saturday that the United States is closer than ever to liberating the Middle East from the Iranian threat, noting that his country is now destroying Iran’s missile stockpile and its defense industrial base.

Trump explained that his country has the most powerful army in the world, and “we are closer than ever to liberating the Middle East from the Iranian threat and nuclear blackmail.”

On Thursday, Trump announced a suspension of the destruction of Iranian power plants for 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026.

Trump said in a post on his Truth Social account: “At the request of the Iranian government, please consider this statement as an announcement that the power plant destruction period will be suspended for ten days, until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 p.m. EST.”
