"Emirates Accounting" and"Saudi Oversight Authority" They strengthen partnership in the field of governance and anti-corruption

ABU DHABI, November 10, 2017 (WAM) – The Emirates Accounting Authority and the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, “Nazaha,” signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two sides in the areas of combating corruption, consolidating governance, and developing supervisory systems.

This memorandum comes within the framework of the strong relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in line with the vision of the two countries to enhance institutional cooperation and integrate efforts between Gulf integrity agencies in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of government work, establishing the highest standards of integrity and transparency, and supporting the stability of the economic and administrative environment in the region.

The memorandum was signed in the presence of His Excellency Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the Emirates Accounting Authority, and His Excellency Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, Chairman of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority in Saudi Arabia.

The two sides stressed the importance of exchanging experiences, building capabilities, and developing permanent channels for technical cooperation, data exchange, and modern supervisory practices.

The partnership focuses on enhancing the capabilities of both parties in the areas of administrative investigation, data-based analysis, and utilizing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and includes developing joint training and professional programs to raise the level of national competencies and enhance the readiness of agencies to face future challenges, in addition to cooperation in the field of combating cross-border corruption crimes.

This memorandum confirms the joint role of the UAE and Saudi Arabia in advancing the path of Gulf cooperation in the areas of governance and anti-corruption, and reflects their commitment to developing a pioneering Arab model in integrity and effective oversight, and building strong institutional systems that support sustainable development.
