The Foreign Minister reviews the development of relations "Egyptian – Turkish"

This came during the Foreign Minister’s participation today, Wednesday, as part of his visit to Turkey in a discussion session with the Turkish Center for Political, Economic and Social Studies SETA In the presence of Dr. Nabi Mish, the center’s general coordinator, and a number of senior researchers, an extensive discussion took place about Egyptian bilateral relations –  Turkish and developments in the regional situation.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Ati referred to the tangible progress achieved at the level of economic and investment cooperation, and to the results of the joint planning group meeting held in Ankara, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, which dealt with the preparation for the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting scheduled to be held in 2026.

 

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs addressed the most prominent regional issues of common interest, most notably the developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories, where he reviewed the pivotal role that Egypt has played since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in stopping the escalation and preventing the displacement of Palestinians, pointing to the efforts made by Cairo in cooperation with Turkey, Qatar and the United States, to reach the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement. For peace.

 

The official spokesman added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that this cooperation represents a model of the positive contribution that the Egyptian-Turkish partnership can make in addressing the crises of the region.

 

He also referred to the ongoing preparations to hold the Cairo International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza with the broad participation of countries and international organizations, which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and rebuilding the Gaza.

 

Minister Abdel-Ati discussed the developments in Libya, stressing the Egyptian position in support of the “Libyan” political solution. “Libyan”, and the necessity of accelerating the holding of simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, in a way that preserves the unity and sovereignty of the state and achieves stability for the Libyan people..

 

Minister Abdel-Ati also reviewed the developments in the situation in Sudan, stressing the Egyptian position on the importance of a ceasefire, rejecting any attempts to divide the country, and supporting national state institutions.

 

He referred to the efforts made by Egypt within the framework of the Quartet Mechanism, as well as its full condemnation of the horrific violations in the city of El Fasher and the necessity of urgent action to deliver humanitarian aid.

 

The official spokesman indicated that Minister Abdel-Aty also addressed developments in the Horn of Africa region, where he stressed the congruence of the Egyptian and Turkish positions regarding the importance of preserving the unity and sovereignty of Somalia, supporting efforts to combat terrorism, and enhancing security and stability in the region, stressing Egypt’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Turkey in Africa within the framework of supporting development and security in Continent.
