The heads of the Egyptian and Indian pharmaceutical authorities discuss enhancing pharmaceutical cooperation

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, received Dr. Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi, CEO of the Indian Drug Authority (CDSCO), to discuss aspects of joint cooperation between the two bodies and the development of the fields of drug regulation and pharmaceutical industries.
During the meeting with Dr. Tamer Al-Husseini, Vice Chairman of the Authority, ways of enhancing cooperation in the areas of drug registration, application of Good Manufacturing Standards (GMP), exchange of regulatory information, opportunities for technology transfer, and support for the localization of pharmaceutical industries were discussed. During the meeting, Dr. Tamer Al-Husseini stressed the Authority’s keenness to open new horizons for cooperation with the Indian side, noting the importance of exchanging regulatory and scientific expertise to strengthen the pharmaceutical control system and localize the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt.
He pointed to the importance of building long-term strategic partnerships with counterparts, explaining that the Authority seeks to enhance the exchange of regulatory and technical information, and develop joint programs for training and capacity building, which contributes to raising the efficiency of workers in the pharmaceutical sector and localizing vital industries. And innovative in Egypt, and achieving integration between Egyptian and Indian expertise to serve the health of citizens in both countries.
For his part, Dr. Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi praised the great development witnessed by the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt, pointing to the Authority’s efforts in developing the regulatory system and increasing the manufacturing and export capacity of pharmaceutical products, stressing his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation in the fields of pharmaceutical regulation, technology transfer, and the exchange of technical expertise to serve the public health system in the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the Authority. The meeting reflects the vision of the Egyptian Medicines Authority in building sustainable strategic partnerships to exchange scientific and technical expertise, and develop human capabilities, in a way that enhances Egypt’s leadership in the pharmaceutical sector and allows the transfer of technology and innovation in the pharmaceutical industries.
