The date for hearing Sarkozy’s case is set for March 2026

The Paris Court of Appeal announced today that it will consider, between March 16 and June 6, the appeal submitted to the initial ruling against former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in the 2007 Libyan financing case for his election campaign.

On September 25, the first instance court ruled that Sarkozy be imprisoned for 5 years, of which he spent 20 days in prison. He was then released on Monday while remaining under judicial supervision.

The Paris Criminal Court convicted him of deliberately allowing his accomplices to communicate with the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Libya to request illegal funding for the campaign that brought him to the French presidency in 2007.
