20 customer councils per month to design services “through people’s eyes”

The head of government services in the UAE government, Engineer Mohammed bin Taliah, said that government agencies in the country hold about 20 customer councils per month, with the aim of enhancing direct communication with the public and designing smart government services with people’s eyes and opinions, stressing that the government’s ambition is for the UAE’s services to be the best in the world.
Bin Taliah explained to Emirates Today, on the sidelines of his attendance and participation in the first Customer Council, organized by the Emirates Pharmaceutical Corporation, that such councils embody the approach of the UAE government in actively involving customers in developing services, noting that the Council witnessed great interaction from representatives of private sector companies working in the field of medicine, who presented constructive observations and ideas that will be translated into action plans to develop services and eliminate bureaucracy within the institution.
He added that the UAE government is moving forward with the second phase of the zero-bureaucracy program, which focuses on zeroing out digital bureaucracy, explaining that technology today enables the government to provide distinguished and easy-to-use services covering various segments of society, through smart applications and platforms.
Bin Taliah stressed that the design of government services at this stage revolves around people first, as customers are involved in designing digital journeys and applications, in a way that suits their actual needs.
He stressed that the government does not ignore the segments of society that may face difficulty in using digital services, as traditional service centers are still available and are constantly being developed, pointing out that government agencies have been directed not to turn away any customer who arrives at the center, and to allocate a special corner to train him to use digital services and provide him with the necessary support until his transaction is fully completed.
