“Your fortress, my homeland.” A community sports race in Wahat Al Karama to promote national values

The Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the National Projects Office, announced today the organization of the “Your Fortress, O Homeland” sports race, at eight o’clock in the morning on April 18, starting from Wahat Al Karama with wide participation from various segments of society, in an event that combines sports and the patriotic spirit. The race is expected to witness the participation of thousands of competitors, in addition to the attendance of their families and a wide audience of those interested in sports and community activities, as the race will be held within one category for a distance of 5 kilometers, allowing the opportunity to participate for all ages and fitness levels.

The organizing committee confirmed that organizing the race comes within the framework of enhancing community awareness of the importance of physical fitness, in addition to consolidating the values ​​of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, as the event carries a symbolic character that reflects appreciation for the sacrifices of the martyrs whose memory was immortalized in Wahat Al Karama, one of the most prominent national monuments in the UAE.

The race is expected to witness the participation of thousands of competitors, in addition to the attendance of their families and a wide audience of those interested in sports and community activities, as the race will be held within one category for a distance of 5 kilometers, allowing the opportunity to participate for all ages and fitness levels.

Lieutenant General (M) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race, confirmed that the event embodies the vision of the wise leadership in promoting and consolidating national values ​​for everyone, pointing out that the “Your Horse Race, O Homeland” race carries a profound humanitarian and patriotic message, as it combines sports and appreciation for the efforts of the first line of defense in the field of pride and dignity, and enhances the spirit of belonging and cohesion among members of society.

He explained that the race is a community experience available to everyone and everyone who considers the UAE their homeland, to express their belonging and loyalty, regardless of their backgrounds, nationalities and speeds.

He added that the organizing committee was keen to ensure that participation in the race was free, while providing the highest quality standards in organization and safety, calling on community members to actively participate in this event, which reflects a bright image of the unity of Emirati society.

The event is part of a series of sporting and community events taking place in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during the month of April, as part of efforts to support healthy lifestyles, enhance the quality of life in the emirate, and consolidate the spirit of loyalty and belonging among all segments of society, in light of the values ​​of coexistence and tolerance that characterize Emirati society.
