The American University shines in the tenth edition of the World University Championships in Barcelona
The competitions of the tenth edition of the World University Championships (WIUC 2025) witnessed great brilliance for the American University with a large delegation consisting of nine games under the leadership of Engineer Sherif El-Erian.
The American University achieved distinguished results, as the women’s basketball team was crowned first place, and player Zeina Hassan received the tournament’s best player award (MVP), while the university achieved fourth place in swimming and table tennis. The cheerleading team also appeared for the first time at a remarkable level, adding a distinguished presence to the American University in the tournament.

The World University Championships (WIUC 2025) is considered the largest global university sporting event, which was held this year in Barcelona with the participation of more than five thousand male and female players from more than 200 universities around the world, in an edition that is considered the strongest and largest since the start of the tournament.
