Basra suspends official working hours in preparation for receiving the audience for the UAE-Iraq match

The Basra Governorate administration decided to grant an official holiday to all governmental and educational agencies tomorrow, Tuesday, November 18, with the aim of providing the opportunity to encourage the Mesopotamia Lions team in the return match that will be held with the Emirati “Whites” in the final Asian round that qualifies for the global playoff to the 2026 World Cup.

The governorate said in an official announcement that it was decided to suspend official working hours in the governorate for tomorrow, Tuesday, in order to provide the public with the opportunity to support and encourage the Mesopotamia Lions team in the return match after the first leg ended (1-1), which was held at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi, last Thursday.

The governorate administration confirmed that the decision to suspend was due to the great public momentum and the desire to provide an appropriate atmosphere to support the Iraqi team.
