Committee B"Federal National" It reviews a study on policies and programs for accepting students into higher education, scholarships, and grants

DUBAI, 17 November / WAM / The Education, Culture, Youth, Sports and Media Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, during its meeting held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council in Dubai, headed by His Excellency Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Committee, reviewed a parliamentary study on the subject of government policy regarding policies and programs for accepting students in higher education, missions and scholarships.

The meeting was attended by the members of the committee, His Excellency Dr. Maryam Obaid Al-Badwawi, the committee’s rapporteur, Amna Ali Al-Adidi, Aisha Khamis Al-Dhanhani, Dr. Moza Muhammad Al-Shehhi, and Najla Ali Al-Shamsi, members of the council.

The study addressed the two axes of the topic: admission policies in higher education and their impact on students’ academic and professional paths, scholarship programs and scholarships and their impact on students’ choices, labor market needs, and support for future specializations.

In the context of admission policies in higher education and their impact on the academic and professional paths of students, the study reviewed the impact of Ministerial Resolution No. 19 of 2024 regarding admission standards for programs in higher education institutions on the quality of the outcomes of the educational process, the limited orientation of students towards scientific and technical specializations related to national development priorities, the absorptive capacity in public universities, the standards and conditions of admission programs for people of determination in higher education, missions and scholarships, and specialized vocational education programs and its impact on skills alignment.
