president "National planning" He appreciates the role of the Upper Egypt Development Authority in implementing development projects

Dr. Ashraf El-Arabi, President of the National Planning Institute, appreciated the pivotal role of the Upper Egypt Development Authority in planning and implementing many development projects within the governorates of Upper Egypt.

This came during El-Arabi’s reception with Eng. Amr Abdel Moneim, Chairman of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides, and discuss mechanisms for maximizing the benefit of the Institute’s capabilities and its research and scientific expertise, to support the Authority’s activities in a number of development fields.

He explained that the meeting dealt with a number of areas of joint cooperation, where it was emphasized that On the importance of preparing a comprehensive development map for Upper Egypt, in a way that enhances the ability to analyze sectoral interactions, to reach an integrated vision for the advancement of the regions of Upper Egypt.

For his part, Engineer Amr Abdel Moneim expressed his appreciation for the National Planning Institute as a leading scientific and research institution possessing solid expertise and distinguished cadres, stressing his aspiration for more cooperation between the Authority and the Institute during the coming period, especially in the field of studying investment opportunities available in Upper Egypt, and strengthening the partnership with the private sector in a way that contributes to Maximizing the return on investment and providing more job opportunities.

It should be noted that the Institute and the Authority had signed a memorandum of understanding in November 2023, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between the two institutions and maximizing the use of the scientific and research capabilities of the Institute in supporting the Authority’s activities. According to the memorandum, areas of cooperation include preparing studies to evaluate existing projects, developing business models for managing development projects in a way that ensures efficiency and effectiveness, as well as designing and implementing training programs to raise the efficiency of the authority’s employees, providing technical support in areas related to planning and development, participating in organizing seminars and events aimed at enhancing community awareness in the governorates of Upper Egypt, in addition to providing the opportunity for the authority’s employees to enroll in the institute’s graduate programs.
