The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns the statements of the Israeli Minister of National Security

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned in the strongest terms Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s explicit call for the assassination and targeting of the Palestinian leadership, including the arrest of President Mahmoud Abbas.

The ministry said in a statement, “These statements represent an official approach within the occupying state that replaces law with force, flouts international legitimacy, and adopts impunity as an official policy.”

The ministry added that Ben Gvir’s statements “constitute part of a dangerous process to legitimize crimes within the Israeli government system, which will have profound repercussions on the chances of achieving peace and stability in the region.”
