"K-Expo" It strengthens bridges of trade and cultural exchange between the UAE and Korea

DUBAI, 18th November, 2018 (WAM) – The activities of the Korean exhibition “K-Expo UAE” kicked off yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Center, organized by the Korea Creative Content Authority, with the participation of 218 Korean companies specializing in food, beauty care products and innovation, along with 12 Korean government agencies.

The Authority also organized a display of interactive Korean experiences at the Global Village in Dubai, which combined entertainment, technology and cultural exchange and attracted a large segment of visitors to learn about Korean culture and the modern lifestyle in South Korea.

Wyong-il Park, Director of the Korea Creative Content Center in the Emirates, said: Dubai is a global center for capital, technology exchange and international transport, which makes hosting the K-Expo an ideal opportunity to showcase Korean culture to an audience from all over the world.

He added: The K-Expo UAE exhibition was designed to be an interactive and experimental cultural space that enables visitors to the exhibition to engage in practical experiences within the Korean cosmetics pavilion, attend cooking demonstrations in the Korean food pavilion, and explore exhibitions based on intellectual property of famous Korean content, all of which are experiences directly related to daily lifestyle topics that embody the essence of contemporary Korean culture.

Rak-Kyun Kim stressed that Global Village represents one of the most prominent cultural and tourist destinations in Dubai. “It is a space where people from different parts of the world meet to exchange experiences and learn about diverse cultures. We have found in it the ideal environment to showcase the convergence between artificial intelligence and content, exchange global capital, and enhance cooperation between content creators and consumer brands.”

Rak-Kyun Kim, Head of the Global Innovation Department at the Korea Creative Content Authority, said that K-Expo allows fans of Korean culture in the region to learn about various aspects of Korea directly, including digital content, Korean food, beauty care products, and lifestyle, in addition to cultural interaction with the Middle East.

He pointed out that the event constituted a comprehensive festival that included exhibitions, public activities, and musical performances, in addition to export consultation sessions directed at companies and the business sector.
