The President of Angola receives Shakhbut bin Nahyan

Luanda, 18 November / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, met with His Excellency João Manuel Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola in the capital, Luanda. During the meeting, bilateral relations were discussed in areas of common interest.
His Excellency conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, to His Excellency, and their wishes for his country and its people for further progress and prosperity.
For his part, His Excellency Lourenco conveyed His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan, his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Presidential Office, and his wishes for the leadership, government and people of the UAE for further development and growth.
His Excellency welcomed the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan, and discussed with him ways to strengthen bilateral relations. The two sides also discussed joint efforts to develop cooperation paths in various fields to new horizons for the benefit of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
They also discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, including developments in Sudan, and His Excellency appreciated the pivotal role of the Republic of Angola in establishing peace and security in Africa during its presidency of the African Union.
The two sides also condemned all violations against civilians and humanitarian workers, and in this context they called for an immediate ceasefire, ensuring unimpeded access to humanitarian aid, protecting civilians, and holding accountable the crimes committed.
