The General Real Estate Authority launches a service "Instant licensing" For off-plan sales projects
Sponsored by Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Real Estate Authority Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, the Authority launched a service "Instant Licensing" For off-plan sales projects, on the sidelines of the Cityscape International 2025 exhibition, in a qualitative step that reflects the sector’s trends towards accelerating the real estate developer’s journey, raising the efficiency of the real estate development environment and enhancing the attractiveness of investment in the Kingdom.
The authority explained that the new service came after comprehensive work on engineering and developing off-plan sales procedures, as the requirements were reduced by approximately 90%, which makes it easier for developers to quickly fulfill the conditions, and contributes to raising the quality of operations and improving the user experience.
This transformation is one of The basic pillars for enhancing the reliability of the real estate market and raising the level of compliance with relevant systems and regulations.
Issuing the license immediately
The General Real Estate Authority confirmed that the period required to issue the license has witnessed a qualitative shift. Whereas the procedures used to take more than 30 working days, the issuance of the license now takes place immediately upon completion of the requirements, through an integrated electronic system that relies on precise governance of processes and automation of licensing stages, which raises work efficiency, reduces manual interventions, reduces the chances of errors and raises the level of Transparency.
The authority explained that the developed system relies on comprehensive harmonization and linking with government and financing agencies, which enables developers to obtain financing faster and more reliably, and contributes to supporting early sales and providing the liquidity necessary to implement projects more efficiently.
Protecting buyers’ rights
The service also works to ensure the protection of buyers’ rights by enhancing verification of the regulatory and financial obligations of projects. The Authority announced linking with a number of local banks to automatically open escrow accounts, while continuing to work on completing the link with the rest of the banks during the next stage.
This enhances the building of an integrated financial system that establishes confidence among all parties to the real estate market, and supports sustainability in off-plan sales operations.
