The Ministries of “Community Empowerment” and “Economy and Tourism” announce the start of training for 1,000 families within the “Entrepreneurs from Emirati Families” program.

The Ministry of Community Empowerment and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism announced the start of training 50 entrepreneurs from productive Emirati families, within the “Entrepreneurs from Emirati Families” programme, which was launched in cooperation with the New Economy Academy, and in partnership with “Majara”, the National Fund for Social Responsibility, the Emirates Foundation, and Neol, as part of the Year of the Family initiatives.
The program comes within the framework of the “UAE, Entrepreneurial Capital of the World” campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him.”
The program aims to train and qualify 1,000 entrepreneurs from productive Emirati families, over a period of 5 years, at a rate of 200 trainees each year, enabling them to transform their skills into successful projects, while an elite group of trainers, experts and consultants, specializing in entrepreneurship and self-development, and the economic, financial and technical sectors, participate in presenting the program.
One of the most important economic axes that the program will focus on in the first years is entrepreneurship in the fields of: tourism, agriculture, agricultural technology, food industries, financial services based on technology, and transportation services.

Independent and sustainable projects
Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Empowerment, said: “We work in the Ministry of Community Empowerment within a strategic vision and in partnership with all actors, to establish an incubating environment for social and economic innovation, with the aim of empowering Emirati families and transforming their ambitions for entrepreneurship into projects that have great competitive capabilities. Her Excellency pointed out that the (Emirati Families Entrepreneurs) program is a qualitative platform in this context, to enable citizens to lead their own projects with high efficiency, and to consolidate their economic and social stability through self-reliance.”

She added that the program represents an important engine for transforming the creative and entrepreneurial ideas of Emirati families into national brands that compete in global markets, noting that our goal is to create a new reality, in which the Emirati entrepreneur is an authentic partner in economic development, and an active contributor to shaping the future, through inspiring success stories that confirm that national talent is the real wealth for sustainable prosperity.

Joint cooperation
For his part, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, said: “The (Emirati Family Entrepreneurs) program represents a fundamental pillar of our national strategy to transform human energies into effective economic engines, a translation of the vision of the wise leadership that investing in citizens is the winning bet to achieve the future of entrepreneurship. Through this vision, we are working to build an integrated system of empowerment and training, ensuring the maturity of national projects, consolidating a culture of self-reliance, and transforming productive families into true partners in achieving economic trends.”

He added that the program links the aspirations of the people of the nation with the growth opportunities provided by the integration between the government and private sectors. We at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism believe that the entrepreneurship sector in the Emirates is full of broad horizons of opportunities and innovation in various fields that can make significant contributions to economic flexibility and building a vibrant society that leads economic growth with an ambitious and sustainable vision.

The program includes multiple topics, including: developing an entrepreneurial mindset and identifying the differences between an entrepreneur’s mindset and an employee’s mindset, generating ideas to identify challenges and turning them into opportunities, building a business model through the value proposition and using business model building, verifying the idea and the market to test the idea and collect user feedback, analyzing the market and competitors’ trends through the use of analysis tools, in addition to business and revenue models from revenue model design and digital transformation, market entry strategies through building a strong brand identity and marketing campaigns designed to achieve impact and rapid growth, and financial planning and financing through preparation. Costs, expectations, identifying funding sources, and presentation skills by preparing an effective presentation that highlights the project idea and convinces investors.
