473 billion dirhams, the contribution of the National Content Program to the UAE economy

Abu Dhabi, April 20 / WAM / Salama Al Haj Al Awadhi, Senior Vice President of Group Commercial Affairs, In-Country Value and Industrial Development at ADNOC, confirmed that the National Content Program has succeeded, since its launch in 2018, in redirecting more than 473 billion dirhams to the national economy, including 307 billion dirhams through the ADNOC Group.
This came during her participation in the activities of the Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Festival, which began today in Abu Dhabi, noting that the program was launched with the aim of recycling purchases within the national economy, which contributed to empowering national companies that operate today within ADNOC’s supply chain system.
She added that the National Content Program contributes to empowering the entrepreneurship system and building local companies capable of competing globally, pointing out that the industrial sector is one of the most prominent sectors that entrepreneurs should focus on because of the promising opportunities it provides, which supports achieving self-sufficiency in sectors of national priority.
She pointed out that ADNOC has played a pivotal role in the “Make in the Emirates” platform since its launch in 2022, as this role has been strengthened with each version until it has become a major partner and essential enabler of the platform through the volume of its business, the supply chains associated with it, and the clarity of its vision for demand and procurement, which has contributed to transforming opportunities into existing industrial projects and enabling manufacturers and investors to expand with confidence within the country.
She explained that this role was reflected through ADNOC’s program to enhance national content, especially through the offtake program, which focuses on identifying imported products that can be manufactured locally through long-term purchase contracts, as ADNOC identified opportunities for national manufacturing worth 90 billion dirhams until 2030, while contracts exceeding 80 billion dirhams were signed during the last period.
She indicated that during the year 2025, 65 billion dirhams were redirected to the national economy, bringing the total value redirected to 307 billion dirhams through the ADNOC Group since the launch of the program in 2018. The program, in partnership with the Nafes program, also contributed to providing more than 23 thousand job opportunities for national cadres in the private sector.
She pointed out that so far, 135 basic industrial products have been manufactured locally, in addition to investments exceeding 4.5 billion dirhams being implemented in developing advanced manufacturing facilities and technologies, in a way that enhances the competitiveness and flexibility of the national industrial sector.
