Nahyan bin Mubarak launches the project “Tolerance and Coexistence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, announced the immediate start of work on one of the most important projects of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence during the next phase, which is the “Tolerance and Coexistence in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” project, stressing that this project is consistent with the vision of the wise leadership for the importance of achieving full benefit from all the data of the times and expectations of the future, in order for the UAE to be fully capable of actively contributing to all the achievements of progress in the world.
This came during the press conference organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence today, during which Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan spoke in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, Afra Al-Sabri, and a number of media leaders in the country.
The press conference touched on the Ministry’s future plans and its adoption of artificial intelligence technology in all its initiatives and programs throughout the year.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak explained that the “Tolerance and Coexistence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” project comes as a contribution from the Ministry in confirming the great importance that the country enjoys in the field of artificial intelligence, which has today become a reality and has a growing and vital role in shaping the nature of life in the entire world.
At the beginning of his speech, he expressed his deepest thanks, utmost respect and gratitude to the wise leadership for the continuous efforts to enable the UAE to take its prestigious position in the world, as well as the continuous emphasis on the place of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood in the process of society and the nation, and the strong keenness to deepen the role of knowledge and technologies in the members of society.
He explained that the “Tolerance and Coexistence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” project aims to contribute to enhancing the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence among all members of society, as well as deepening the relationship with the entire world, stressing that artificial intelligence tools will contribute to achieving acquaintance between individuals, providing channels of dialogue and communication between them, and enabling them to engage in useful and beneficial joint work, in addition to providing them with opportunities for self-learning and permanent and continuous development.
He added that at the societal level, artificial intelligence will lead to achieving efficiency and effectiveness in the work of institutions, so that their members have appropriate opportunities to learn together. They exchange ideas and experiences and implement joint initiatives in tolerance and coexistence to serve the environment and society. At the national level, artificial intelligence technologies will clearly demonstrate the close relationship between tolerance and levels of economic and social development in the country, and contribute to confirming this relationship on the ground.
He said that these technologies will also be an effective means of building strong relationships with foreign communities in the country, with public and private institutions, with preachers and clerics, and with civil society, in addition to their role in building effective partnerships between everyone for the benefit of all.
He stated that at the level of the relationship with the world, artificial intelligence will be used to introduce the whole world to the UAE’s pioneering model of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood, in addition to relying on it to build relations of cooperation and coordination across borders and distances.
He said that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, which seeks to achieve all of this through artificial intelligence techniques, is based on a clear definition of the relationship between tolerance and artificial intelligence. It also focuses on the necessity of preserving human values ​​and principles in the course of the state, and carries out its responsibilities in ensuring that artificial intelligence is a moral intelligence that protects rights and adheres to the principles of morals and good behavior.
He added that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is fully aware of the many benefits of artificial intelligence, but at the same time the ministry is fully aware of the dangers and threats that may result from the improper use of these technologies, and even undesirable changes in the structure of the entire society. The ministry believes that artificial intelligence is thus a test for humanity that carries with it wonderful opportunities for giving and achievement.
He stressed that the Ministry realizes that it is necessary to take all necessary measures to achieve the desired benefits from it at the same time as it works to avoid the risks that may arise from it, and to develop our capabilities to deal with it with awareness, ability and intelligence, pointing to a number of basic considerations that will govern the use of artificial intelligence in this project that we are launching today.
He stressed that the Ministry, through this project, will be a model and role model in the use of artificial intelligence to serve everyone, with respect, compassion, generosity, and concern for the feelings of others. It is also committed to making artificial intelligence a tool for affirming the principles of love and integrity, rejecting violence and hatred, and staying away from any cultural or intellectual bias or discrimination between individuals or groups. It will also focus in its uses of artificial intelligence on the principles of acquaintance, dialogue, and joint work between people, which are the principles that represent the basic pillars of the model of tolerance and coexistence in the Emirates.

Addressing the media, he added: You will see in this project a creative use of the technologies available in the field of artificial intelligence, as we are currently building tools that are consistent with our goals and needs, and demonstrate the ministry’s ability to benefit from these technologies in protecting society from any risks or threats, and in strengthening its immunity in the face of this world that is full of successive and accelerating changes.
He stressed that the Ministry will use artificial intelligence to collect and analyze information and big data, including collecting and analyzing the contents of community media, and disseminating the results on a large scale.
He stressed the Ministry’s keenness for some of these technologies to serve as a “digital friend” to provide advice to individuals and contribute to building self-confidence and optimism about the country’s progress and good behavior among the sons and daughters of the nation, through documented and honest knowledge.
He expressed his hope that artificial intelligence will be an effective tool to expand the scope of work in the Ministry, so that through it the Ministry will reach larger numbers of beneficiaries of its services. The Ministry will also have opportunities to work with those interested in tolerance and coexistence inside and outside the country. As an example of this, what we hope for is the use of these technologies to revitalize the International Alliance for Tolerance, which the Ministry sponsors as an umbrella that brings together advocates of tolerance and coexistence around the world.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak stressed that work on this project is a pioneering example of successful community partnerships. The Ministry will cooperate with universities, relevant community institutions, and technology companies to build appropriate tools for artificial intelligence and use them to achieve development and growth in society.
He also announced that the Ministry will develop 12 artificial intelligence applications covering all aspects of the Ministry’s work, and these applications will be directed to meet the needs of various population groups, provided that they are available in the country and the world. He pointed out that these applications will be tools for continuous learning at all times and in every place, and a tool to encourage creativity and innovation in the areas of tolerance and coexistence. These technologies will also constitute a fertile field for pride in culture, heritage, and national identity, and a way to deepen our relations with the world. They will also be a tool for communication and the exchange of opinions and experiences in The digital field, and above all, these technologies will be relied upon to create information and data bases, analyze them, and benefit from them as much as possible.
He said: “Our message is completely clear: Artificial Intelligence is an important tool in this era, and we in the Ministry are fully committed to using it in a way that makes it a tool for achieving peace and reconciliation and preserving the human values ​​shared by people everywhere,” expressing his hope that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence will always be with everyone’s confidence in its use of artificial intelligence technologies, and in a way that contributes to achieving efficiency and effectiveness in the work of the Ministry on the one hand, and in serving society and humanity in our dear country on the other hand.
