Mohammed Khalifa Al-Mubarak: The Natural History Museum is a qualitative leap in the process of cultural and knowledge investment

ABU DHABI, 20 November / WAM / His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum in the Cultural District on Saadiyat Island represents a qualitative leap in the process of cultural and knowledge investment in the country.

His Excellency said during a media tour organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi for a number of local and international media representatives to learn about the latest developments in work at the museum and to introduce its most prominent exhibits, scientific and innovative experiments, and its readiness before its opening, that museums are not just exhibition spaces, but rather educational and social institutions that form a pillar in building the awareness of generations, pointing out that the museum does not limit itself to displaying natural history, but rather provides an advanced educational platform that contributes to transferring knowledge to future generations and linking it to science and discoveries. Modern.

He added, “The Natural History Museum proves that culture is part of our identity and that we are able to provide world-class scientific content emanating from the Arab region to the world. We want our children to see the history of the Earth, to develop in them the spirit of exploration and scientific curiosity, and to realize the importance of protecting our environment and our planet.”

His Excellency pointed out that the museum offers unique displays, including the world’s first display of a herd of giant dinosaurs in the main hall, in addition to scientific laboratories and interactive experiments that stimulate scientific thinking among students, researchers and visitors of all ages.

His Excellency stressed that including the museum’s content in educational and community initiatives will contribute to building a generation aware of the history of the region and the history of the land. He said, “We work with our partners in museums and scientific institutions in the region to discover more together, and we believe that culture and knowledge, when available to generations, releases their energies and develops their abilities to think and create.”

The Natural History Museum reflects the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to enhance knowledge and scientific research and provides educational platforms that enrich thought, creativity, and explore and understand the relationship between humans and nature.

The museum extends over an area exceeding 35,000 square metres, and is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East, reviewing 13.8 billion years of natural history and the development of life on planet Earth.

The Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum will open its doors to the public as of November 22, 2025, joining the group of international cultural institutions on Saadiyat Island, along with the Louvre Abu Dhabi, teamLab Phenomena, Zayed National Museum, and the upcoming Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi, enhancing the emirate’s position as a global destination for knowledge, creativity and cultural exchange.
