More than 10,000 people were displaced due to floods in Malaysia

The Malaysian authorities announced today that The recent floods that the country witnessed caused the displacement of more than (10) thousand people, indicating that the northern state of Kelantan was the most affected.

Kelantan, which has been witnessing continuous heavy rains for several days, recorded the evacuation of (8,248) people due to the floods, and they were transferred to (33) flood relief centers, according to the Malaysian authorities.

It issued Department of Meteorology Warnings of continued heavy rains and strong winds.

It is noteworthy that Malaysia was exposed in December 2014 to an unprecedented flood that struck several states in the west of the country, which led to the displacement of about (400) thousand people after they lost their homes and possessions.
