Nahyan bin Mubarak attends the annual dinner of the Cooperation Foundation in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 24TH November / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended the annual dinner organized by the Cooperation Foundation at the Rotana Beach Hotel in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in an evening that brought together a wide selection of humanitarian leaders, representatives of international institutions and the private sector.
The high attendance was clear evidence of the distinguished position that the Foundation enjoys, and of the great interest that the UAE attaches to enhancing its humanitarian mission and supporting initiatives directed to serving the Palestinian people, especially programs that care for children and families most in need in Gaza and Palestine.
The evening was also attended by Her Excellency Abeer Al Ramahi, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the country.
The participation of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE’s keenness to consolidate the values of solidarity and brotherhood, and to enhance charitable work partnerships and sustainable development in the region.
In his speech during the evening, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said: “I extend my warmest greetings to you, and I thank you very much for your kind invitation to me, to attend this annual ceremony, for the Welfare Foundation, this active community institution, which has a national, sincere and honest vision for doing good, alleviating suffering, and providing humanitarian aid to the beloved people of Palestine.
His Excellency added: “It is a source of pride in your truly noble message, brothers and sisters, that you are now focusing, in the “Noor” program, on providing relief to orphaned children, in Gaza, which is dear to us all. In this program, which is considered the largest program for caring for orphans in the region, you are emphasizing the meanings of solidarity, compassion, and sincere belonging to your dear homeland, and you are seeking, with all love, resolve and determination, to help These children, and you work as much as possible to provide them with a humane environment in which they can live in peace and security.”
His Excellency said: “We all know the seriousness of the catastrophic conditions from which our people in the Gaza Strip are suffering – we pray to God Almighty to extend a helping hand to them, and for the grief to be lifted, so that Gaza returns and Palestine returns, as we always hope for it, a homeland of love, peace and stability – we pray to God Almighty to grant everyone success, in order to address the real causes of what we are witnessing.” Human suffering represents a shock to the conscience of humanity, and a moral issue that causes concern to people everywhere. The time has come for everyone in this world to understand that justice, fairness, and observance of rights are the sure path to a safe and dignified life for all nations and peoples.”
His Excellency added, “This annual celebration of the Welfare Foundation, here in Abu Dhabi, clearly confirms the depth of the fraternal relations between Palestine and the Emirates, and the deep feelings of the sons and daughters of the Emirates towards the brotherly people of Palestine. We thank God very much that we are in this dear country, and under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him. We are following the path of the founder of the state.” The great, late father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in supporting the rights of the valiant Palestinian people, enabling them to build their independent state, and in committing to support all efforts that seek to achieve a decent life for the residents of this brotherly country, dear to all of our hearts – we in the Emirates always affirm, in word and deed, and with all determination and strength, all dimensions of sincere brotherhood between the two peoples in Palestine. And the Emirates.
His Excellency pointed out that this annual celebration is also an expression of our pride in you, in the Welfare Foundation, and our strong support for your good initiatives, which aim to achieve a decent life, in all parts of Palestine – you in the Welfare Foundation, brothers and sisters, are a pioneering Palestinian example and model, in ensuring the development of the individual, the progress of society, and the preservation of the national principles and values of the people of Palestine – in your work, this is only You embody what we all know, that humanitarian charitable work is an important part of the culture and heritage of the sons and daughters of Palestine, and how the programs and initiatives you undertake are evidence of complete confidence in the future of Palestine, and a measure of the vitality of the people of Palestine, who prove to the world every day that they are a courageous people, who struggle and make sacrifices, with full ability, to face all difficulties, and even, as a people whose history goes through the ages. With strength of determination, firmness of will, and clarity of purpose, His Excellency praised your strong connection to the hopes and aspirations of the people of Palestine, and your full commitment to supporting Palestinian society in its legitimate quest to achieve justice, freedom, and peace, and to establish its independent state, in which the homeland will always be dear and proud.
He said: “At the end of my speech, I return and express to you my strong support for the “Noor” program, to care for orphaned children in the Gaza Strip, who are truly in need of support and support – it is very important to me to salute your steadfast patriotic spirit and the noble humanitarian considerations behind this program, which embodies the meanings of mercy and concern for human dignity, hoping, God willing, that this program will be a good omen. For the children of Gaza, who are our dearest children, we are connected with them with our hearts and minds, and we pray to God Almighty, that the inhumane conditions in which they live will be removed from them.”
In his speech during the evening, Dr. Nabil Hani Al-Qaddoumi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Welfare Foundation, said that the Foundation, since its founding more than four decades ago, has not stopped serving the Palestinian people, adding: “The Welfare Foundation is a Palestinian-Arab institution that was established to serve the Palestinian people and their needs, and over four decades it has spent more than a billion dollars on programs and projects that have touched the lives of the Palestinian people. Our message is to empower the Palestinian people and support their steadfastness and survival on their land.”
He pointed out that the Foundation, since the second day of the aggression on Gaza, has intensified relief efforts and provided comprehensive programs under the “Gaza Deserve” umbrella, including the “Noor” initiative, university education programs, mobile clinics, and rehabilitation programs for the injured and amputees.
For his part, Dr. Tariq Emtairah, Director General of the Welfare Foundation, provided an in-depth look at the “Noor” initiative as an integrated care model, explaining its specificity and philosophy. He said: “Noor is not just traditional sponsorship, but a life path that extends with the child until the age of eighteen, including education, health, psychological support, and protection. It is a journey that restores the child’s balance and ability to rise again.”
The evening included visual and humanitarian performances that highlighted the stories of children in Gaza, including an introductory film about the Welfare Association, the “Noor” Initiative film that tells the story of the field, in addition to a short promotional film by director Omar Rimal, which presented a deep artistic vision of the journey of loss and hope.
The artist Dalal Abu Amna also performed a musical piece that carried messages of steadfastness and human beauty.
At the end of the evening, the Welfare Foundation expressed its deep appreciation to the leadership, government and people of the UAE for hosting this humanitarian meeting, and for the broad attendance that reflected the depth of the fraternal relations between the two peoples and their continued support for the Palestinian cause. The Foundation stressed that this solidarity constitutes a true partnership in building a safer and more dignified future for the children of Gaza through the “Noor” initiative.
