The launch of the tenth session of the Emirates Writers Forum in Sharjah


Sharjah, November 24 / WAM / The tenth session of the Emirati Women Writers Forum, organized by the Cultural Office of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, was launched on the stage of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, with the participation of Emirati women writers in the fields of poetry, novels, short stories and criticism.
The forum witnessed the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Sheikha Issa Al-Arri, Saleha Obaid Ghabish, Head of the Cultural Office, and Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi, Director of the Center, along with a number of female officials and those interested in culture.
Writer Najiba Al-Rifai opened the forum’s activities, stressing the importance of the event in enhancing the status of Emirati women and highlighting new talents, noting her contributions to establishing the local literary movement.
The forum included three main sessions: “The Cultural Patterns Embedded in the Emirati Women’s Novel,” presented by Dr. Aziza Al-Taie, which touched on women writers’ use of traditional elements and popular memory in the novel, and “The Emirati Short Story: Formation and Vision” by Dr. Zainab Al-Yasi, which addressed the development of the story between realism and fantasy, reviewing multiple literary experiences, and a poetry reading session with the participation of poets Salma Al-Hashimi and Sheikha Al-Mutairi. and Zainab Al Balushi, who presented patriotic and humanitarian texts and expressed the connection of poetry to life and society.
