10 people were killed and others were missing in floods and landslides in Indonesia

At least 10 people were killed and six others were missing, as a result of heavy rains that caused flash floods and Monsoon rains last week caused rivers to flood, sweeping away mountainous villages with mud, rocks and trees, leaving widespread destruction.

The statement explained that rescue teams have so far been able to recover five bodies and three injured people in the most affected city of Sibolga, and they were searching for four people who were reported missing.

In the surrounding area, Landslides destroyed several homes and killed a family of four, while floods submerged about two thousand homes and buildings in the central Tabanuli region.
