المملكة: Conclusion of the 38th International Conference of Muslims of Latin America and the Caribbean

Yesterday evening, Tuesday, the work of the 38th International Conference for Muslims of Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by the Center for Islamic Dawa in Latin America and the Caribbean in cooperation with Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was held this year under the title: “Muslim youth in the era of artificial intelligence: prospects and challenges,” during the period from 21 to 23 November 2025 AD in the city of Sao Paulo in the Federal Republic of Brazil, with the participation of official delegations, researchers and specialists from various countries of the world.
Addressing Muslim issues and the most important recommendations
This edition of the conference came as a continuation of its pioneering role in addressing Muslim issues in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, enhancing their religious and intellectual presence, and discussing the most prominent challenges facing Muslim youth in light of the rapid technological development.
The participants in the conference issued a package of recommendations, the most prominent of which was sending a cable of thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for the Kingdom’s continued support of Muslim communities in Latin America and the Caribbean, and thanking the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance for its sponsorship and support of the conference. For its programs, and thanked His Excellency the Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh for his interest and continuous follow-up of the conference’s work. Providing thanks and appreciation to the government of the Federal Republic of Brazil for its interest in the Muslim community.
Scientific research and artificial intelligence
As The participants recommended emphasizing the importance of introducing the concepts of youth, artificial intelligence and its types, and explaining its role in the modern era, introducing artificial intelligence into Shari’a and public education through developing curricula and including information thinking and analysis courses, and employing artificial intelligence to serve Shari’a education by developing advanced electronic tools for teaching the Holy Qur’an, Sunnah, and the Arabic language.
Participants also called for the importance of supporting scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence through establishing specialized research centers, supporting modern jurisprudential jurisprudence in technology issues, and developing relevant scientific bodies. Thereby, preparing an Islamic ethical framework for the use of artificial intelligence that preserves values and ensures responsible use, protecting the identity and Islamic values of young people through awareness programs that guide them to the safe use of modern technologies, and combating misleading content and digital counterfeiting by developing tools to detect deceptive content.
Training for future skills
Participants also stressed the importance of training young people in future skills such as programming, data analysis and cybersecurity, supporting technical entrepreneurship by establishing business incubators and innovation competitions directed at youth, strengthening the digital economy in the Islamic world, investing in technical infrastructure, and protecting The privacy of Muslim youth through enacting the necessary legislation to prevent misuse of data, and enhancing youth participation in technical policy-making through the establishment of youth councils specialized in artificial intelligence.
This conference, organized by the Islamic Da’wah Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, with distinguished participation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anazi, on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al Al-Sheikh, reflects the Kingdom’s care and interest in supporting Muslim minorities in the world and its keenness to Touch their needs, especially those related to caring for their religious identity.
