"Dubai Municipality" He wins the wheelchair basketball title at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament
DUBAI, 5 March / WAM / Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Tennis and Padel Federation, crowned the Dubai Municipality team with the title of the Wheelchair Basketball Championship, which was held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, as part of the competitions of the 13th edition of the “Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament”, the most prominent sporting event held annually during the month of Ramadan under the slogan “Limitless Capabilities”.
The Dubai Municipality team was crowned champion after defeating the Dubai Police team in the final match held yesterday, with a score of 55-46, to win the championship title and the gold medal, while the Dubai Police team won the silver medal.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority team won the bronze medal after defeating the Dubai Courts team in the third place match with a score of 64-58.
The coronation ceremony was witnessed by Her Excellency Mona Khalifa Hammad, Member of the Federal National Council, His Excellency Majid Al Osaimi, Chairman of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Sports Council, along with Hassan Al Mazrouei.
Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, accompanied by Hassan Al Mazrouei, also honored the winners of the UAE Padel Federation Championship for the local classification “Ellington Padel Tour.”
The men’s category title was won by Faris Al-Janahi and Majid Al-Janahi, while Fatima Al-Janahi and Aisha Al-Awadhi won the women’s category title, and the 20-point category title was won by the duo Rashid Kamal and Ali Taqizadeh Najafi.
Ahmed Khaled and Hassan Al-Qattan came in second place in the men’s category, and in the women’s category were Fatima Shahdour and Alia Abdullah Taher, while the silver medal in the 20-point category was won by Abdullah Al Balushi and Abdul Rahman Samer.
In the quarter-finals of the tug-of-war championship for the community category, the Global team defeated the Al-Jawareh team, the Mahdawi and Al-Harbi team defeated the Wasl team, the IFBB Sports Academy team defeated the Al-Ajban team, and the Level Up team defeated the AJ Mustafa 1 team.
