Rashid bin Humaid Council: The UAE is a state of tolerance, coexistence and peace

Ajman, 5 March / WAM / Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, affirmed that the cohesion between the citizen, the resident, and all workers in state institutions represents a solid model of the values ​​of loyalty and belonging to this country.

He added that what we witnessed during exceptional cases demonstrated the strength of community solidarity, as the leadership stood by everyone without discrimination, stressing that the human being is the true wealth of the nation.

This came during the third Ramadan session of the Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Council, which was held under the title “The UAE is a State of Tolerance, Coexistence and Peace,” under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and with the participation of His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Vice President of the National Media Authority, and His Excellency Maqsoud Cruz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ envoy to combat extremism and terrorism, and in the presence of a number of officials.

The session, moderated by His Excellency Mohammed Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Ajman Government Media Office, discussed the UAE’s role in consolidating the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, and strengthening national and international efforts to confront extremism and terrorism.

Sheikh Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that the UAE, in various circumstances and challenges, was the first to extend a helping hand to those in need and those affected, whether inside or outside the country, through humanitarian initiatives that reflect the values of compassion, solidarity, and preserving human dignity and value, indicating that these humanitarian initiatives consolidate the sense of belonging and loyalty of everyone living on the homeland, because the UAE is based on authentic humanitarian principles that make cohesion and cooperation the basis for the strength of society. And its stability.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi said that the UAE is based on solid values ​​​​that rely on tolerance, coexistence and respect for humanity, and clearly rejects forms of terrorism, extremism and racism, and believes that the strength of societies lies in their diversity and the unity of their individuals, and confirms that human dignity and societal cohesion are the basis of its development process and civilizational approach.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi stressed that the UAE Constitution guarantees freedom of opinion and expression within the framework of the law, in a way that balances freedom of expression and societal responsibility, explaining that the media is not limited to what is said only, but extends to how it is presented and its impact on society, pointing to the importance of responsible media based on professionalism and awareness of national values. He also reviewed the role of the National Media Authority, which was established in 2026 by merging three media institutions, with the aim of achieving harmonization and coordination between media efforts and building a system More integrated information.

His Excellency Al Shehhi added that the Authority is working according to a clear vision based on promoting responsible national media and building a stimulating environment for the growth of the media sector and empowering talents, noting that the sector has witnessed rapid and remarkable growth that reflects the great confidence in the media environment in the country.

He pointed to the Authority’s most prominent roles in regulating the media sector, supervising media publishing and circulation, and directing media discourse in a way that enhances national values, in addition to consolidating its role as a reliable reference for information, and working to empower media competencies.

He stressed the sustained work to develop a conscious media methodology in dealing with hate speech and extremism that may carry hidden intentions, in a way that preserves the UAE model based on tolerance, coexistence and peace.

For his part, His Excellency Maqsoud Cruz stressed that all forms of extremism and terrorism begin with a thought based on fanaticism and ignorance, a thought that gradually leads to criminal behavior that relies on intimidating others and justifying the use of violence against innocent people. He explained that the UAE, as the homeland of humanity, seeks to establish a culture of life and responsibility, and to strengthen the role of the media in confronting these phenomena, by spreading knowledge and community awareness.

His Excellency Cruz pointed out the importance of investing in the media in confronting extremist ideology, pointing out that the media plays a pivotal role in exposing and dismantling extremist discourses, enhancing prevention and building intellectual and psychological immunity among members of society.

He added that the media is a double-edged sword. Terrorist groups may exploit it to spread toxic ideas and promote their extremist ideologies, but on the other hand, it represents a positive and powerful tool for spreading human principles and values, and promoting a culture of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

The session included a review of the UAE model, which embraces more than 200 nationalities, living within a framework of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, which is guaranteed by the country’s constitution and reflects its humanitarian model based on tolerance and openness.

The session witnessed an emphasis on the role of the media in the country, which plays an important role in achieving a balance between this cultural and religious diversity, through responsible media discourse that promotes the values ​​of respect and understanding between the various groups of society, in addition to the mechanisms for regulating and monitoring media content and media materials that are circulated or brought into the country and which are subject to clear standards that ensure their compatibility with societal values ​​and legislation regulating the sector.

The session showed that the media sector in the UAE is witnessing rapid growth, supported by the adoption of modern technologies, most notably artificial intelligence, which is employed in organizing content, analyzing data, and enhancing the efficiency of media work in keeping with the development of the global media landscape.

The session witnessed a remarkable interaction from the attendees, who appreciated the positive role of the sessions in enhancing community awareness and confirming the state’s position as a leading beacon in human appreciation and peaceful coexistence despite differences.
