"NATO and Ukraine" They announce the launch of the “Bold UNITE-NATO” program worth 50 million euros

Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) announced Today, Wednesday, the “UNITE” program is launched. NATO Deputy Secretary-General Radmila Shkerinska confirmed, in statements during her visit to Kiev to launch the initiative, that the program will bring direct benefits to both the alliance and Ukraine, explaining that Innovators from both sides will work together to confront pressing operational challenges on the battlefield, while enabling the alliance to draw tactical lessons in real time. Ukrainian Defense Technology Complex Brave1 will coordinate the program from the Ukrainian side, while NATO has chosen its Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to implement the first competition within the framework of the programme.

 

The first phase of the “Unite” initiative focuses on “Brave NATO” To introduce new technological products to the front lines, including systems designed to confront unmanned aircraft, strengthen air defenses, and secure communications systems in combat zones.

 

Joint teams of Ukrainian companies and companies from NATO countries will be allowed to compete for joint grants with a total value of ten million euros, funded equally by both parties, provided that electronic registration will open soon, and then joint offers will be submitted in February. 2026.

 

After completing the first pilot competition, the two sides announced their readiness to expand funding to reach fifty million euros during the year 2026, within the framework of the “Unite” program – “Brave NATO.” NATO will provide its financial contribution through the Comprehensive Aid Package for Ukraine (CAP), while the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation will provide a similar amount from Kiev.

 

The winners of the first competition within the program are scheduled to be announced in the spring of 2026, during the second NATO-Ukraine Defense Innovators Forum.
