The Stroke Unit at Smouha University Hospital is accredited by the American Vascular Association

Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the work team of the Stroke and Cerebral Catheterization Unit at Smouha University Hospital, on the occasion of the unit obtaining the international accreditation certificate SILC issued by the American Society for Vascular and Cerebral Catheterization (SVIN), stressing that this medical and scientific achievement places the university hospitals among the world’s leading centers in the field of cerebral interventional catheterization and stroke treatment, and reflects the great efforts made within the unit, and the commitment to applying modern standards in diagnosis. And treatment.

This certificate was granted during the annual conference of the American Society for Vascular and Cerebral Catheterization held in the United States of America, where the Stroke and Cerebral Catheterization Unit at Smouha University Hospital was chosen among the first units outside the United States to obtain this prestigious international accreditation.

 For his part, Dr. Tamer Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, confirmed that this achievement comes as a result of teamwork and continuous efforts to develop medical education within University Hospitals, pointing out that this accreditation reflects the capabilities of the medical staff at Alexandria University and their possession of skills comparable to international centers.

He explained that the Stroke and Cerebral Catheterization Unit is one of the centers of excellence within Alexandria University Hospitals, which provides its services in accordance with the latest international protocols for treating strokes and cerebrovascular injuries, which enhances the role of university hospitals in providing high-quality health care to the community.
