Victory Team leads free practice in Jeddah Formula 1 round

Sean Torronti, aboard the Victory Team 4 boat, topped the free trial tests on the first day of the fourth round of the Formula 1 World Powerboat Championship, which is currently being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, amid great ambition from the Victory Team to continue its brilliance this season.
Torronte succeeded in finishing the first free trials in first place after achieving the fastest lap time of 42:453 minutes, after doing 14 laps during these preliminary trials, and he was ahead of Jonas Andersson from the Swedish team, who came second with a time of 42:494 minutes, and Marit Stromwe from the Stromwe team came in third place with a time of 42.996 seconds, while Alec Wikström riding the “Victory 4” cruiser was content with being present. In seventeenth place with a time of 42:896 minutes.
Torrente returned to shine again in the second free trials, and also came in first place with a time of 42:241 minutes, and he only did four laps, ahead of the Frenchman Peter Moen from the Chinese team, who came second with a time of 42:975 minutes, and the Finnish Sami Cielo from the Red Devil team took third place with a time of 43:119 minutes, and in fourth place was Eric Stark from the Abu Dhabi team with a time of 43:222 minutes, while the Wikstrom from Team Victory took fifth place with a time of 43:530 minutes.
The organizers decided to cancel the third free trials, which were scheduled for Thursday evening, and that the qualifying race competitions will be held tomorrow, Friday, followed by the two “Sprint” races, which are included in the calculations of the additional points obtained by the racers and teams, while the expected main race will be held next Saturday.
The Executive Director of the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, Mohammed Hareb, expressed a state of satisfaction at the level of the free trials, during which the team showed its clear desire to continue the competition to be on the podium. He said: “The focus was primarily on testing the readiness of the boats and measuring the competitors for the official tracks before entering the speed races and the main race, and we look forward to maintaining these gains in repeating these times in order to be strongly present in the core of the competition in this important round, as it is the penultimate, and every point in it will be precious in our steps.” Continuing to regain the world title.
The Victory team is looking forward to continuing its positive results after winning the third round in the Chinese city of Xinzhou last month, where the team currently leads the overall standings with 125 points, followed in second place by the Sharjah team with 95 points, the Swedish team with 82 points, and the Abu Dhabi team with 50 points. Alec Wikstrom, aboard the Victory 3 boat, also occupies first place in the overall drivers’ standings with 66 points, followed by his colleague Sean Torronti aboard the Victory boat. 4, in second place, with 59 points, then Rusty White from the Sharjah team in third place, with 58 points.
