First half The Royal Army leads Al-Ahly with a goal without a response

The first half of the match between Al-Ahly and the Royal Army ended with the Moroccan team leading by one goal without a response via a penalty kick.

Ahmar and his Moroccan counterpart will meet at Moulay Hassan Stadium in the second round of group stage matches for the African Champions League.

The Royal Army’s victory almost changed the course of the match from the beginning after its player managed to dodge Yasser Ibrahim. He shot a cross into the area, and it initially collided with Al-Ahly’s defense before rebounding to another player. The shot was strong, but it missed Schubert’s net and went outside the field.

In the 12th minute, Ashraf Ben Sharqi tried to threaten the Moroccan team’s goal, but the lack of mastery in executing the finishing touches prevented Al-Ahmar from advancing, and the ball easily reached the hands of the Royal Army goalkeeper.

Al-Ahly players continued their attempt to score the lead goal, and sent Mahmoud Trezeguet gave the ball to Ahmed El-Sayed Zizou, but the Royal Army defender intervened and kept the ball away from his net.

A dangerous opportunity was lost again for Al-Ahmar, and Marwan Attia snatched the ball from the Royal Army player and passed it to Mohamed Sharif, who went off and shot the ball, but it passed near the post in the 29th minute.

The balance of the match changed in the 37th minute after the referee awarded the match a penalty kick. As a result of the ball colliding in the hand of Aliou Dieng, Bourika took it and succeeded in scoring the goal against Mustapha Schubert and scoring the goal for the Royal Army.
