The Interpol Medal of the Highest Class is awarded to senior leaders and officials around the world, including heads of state and prime ministers, who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a firm commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of law enforcement.

Major General Al-Raisi’s receipt of this prestigious award constitutes a milestone in the history of Interpol, reflecting the organization’s appreciation for the efforts he has made over the past four years, during which he was able to lead the organization in a period of unprecedented challenges and transformations, during which he achieved notable institutional achievements that included creating a qualitative shift in the technical structure of Interpol by accelerating digital transformation, employing artificial intelligence, and improving the exchange of information, which raised the organization’s readiness to deal with emerging challenges.

The efforts undertaken by Major General Al-Raisi also contributed to enhancing the efficiency of governance through modernizing the mechanisms of the General Assembly and the Executive Committee, developing the organizational structure and internal policies, as well as building global police capabilities through expanding training and development programs, which contributed to raising the readiness of thousands of officers, and establishing a professional structure that enhances security cooperation among the 196 member states.

During his presidency, Major General Al-Raisi worked to promote diversity, gender equality, women’s empowerment, and expand geographical diversity, which established a more comprehensive and fair regulatory environment within the organization, and his efforts led to the preparation of a road map for the future that ensures the continuation of digital transformation, the development of governance, and the strengthening of international partnerships, in a way that supports Interpol’s strategy for the coming years.

During the closing speech he delivered on the last day of the 193rd Interpol General Assembly meeting, which was hosted by Marrakesh, Major General Al-Raisi thanked Interpol for this gesture, noting that the honor came in appreciation of the achievements achieved thanks to the hard work and joint cooperation between the organization and member states, and affirmed his commitment to continuing to work to support law enforcement agencies and serve the security and safety of communities.

This honor reflects the continued pioneering role played by the UAE in supporting international security efforts and enhancing its effective presence in global forums, supported by the elements of its soft power that strengthened its position to win the presidency or membership of the most prominent international and regional organizations and bodies.
