Ibrahim Hassan reveals the truth about Abdel Moneim’s exclusion from the 2025 African Nations list

Ibrahim Hassan, director of the first Egyptian national football team, revealed that the exclusion of the player Mohamed Abdel Moneim from the team’s roster to participate in the 2025 African Cup of Nations was due to his injury that prevented him from being ready to participate in the matches.
Hassan explained that the medical reports, which were prepared in coordination between the team’s medical staff led by Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Ela and the medical staff of the French club Nice, demonstrated the difficulty of the player joining the tournament after suffering a cruciate ligament injury. Last April, he was followed by a torn calf injury during the last days, which led to a delay in the rehabilitation process and thus made it impossible for him to participate in the matches.
Hassan added that Mohamed Abdel Moneim would have been a strong addition to the team’s defense line, stressing that he is one of the main pillars on which the technical staff relies, and that he wishes him a speedy recovery.
He also stressed that the technical staff is communicating with the player continuously to check on his condition, and that the player himself would have hoped to participate in the tournament had it not been for his injury that kept him out. About the stadiums.
The national team director confirmed that Abdel Moneim’s absence represents a loss for the Pharaohs, but the priority was to protect the player’s health and ensure his readiness in the long term, indicating that the technical staff will work to compensate for his absence with the options available on the list.
