The UAE national team has changed a lot, but we are ready to face it

The Jordanian national football team coach, Jamal Salami, said that his team will face a strong team that has great potential, noting that the Jordanian national team is ready to meet the UAE tomorrow in the third group matches in the Arab Cup tournament.

Salami described the opening matches in such tournaments as very important in terms of the result, stressing that the Jordanian national team has a great ambition to go far in the tournament, considering that the Arab Cup matches represent an opportunity to prepare the team for the 2026 World Cup finals.

The Jordanian coach indicated during the introductory press conference for the match that the “Nashama” team seeks to achieve a positive result in the first match, and that it is fully aware of the amount of responsibility placed on itself and its players to ensure a good start.

Salami addressed the criticism directed at him, saying: “Criticism is a natural part of the game. I have faced this criticism since I took over as coach of the Jordanian national team, and this is normal for me.”

He added: “For me as a coach, I accept criticism, but my goals and strategy with the national team are clear, and I will strive to achieve them regardless of the circumstances.”

Salami stressed that the UAE national team has witnessed major changes recently, especially after the final playoff in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, but he stressed that Jordan is ready to face the Whites and continue competing strongly.

He also expressed his wish that the Jordanian team would avoid facing Morocco in the draw for the 2026 World Cup finals, but stressed that the current focus is on the Arab Cup and building a team capable of competing.
