The fastest player in history.. Haaland enters the 100-goal club

Erling Haaland, the English Manchester City football team player, expressed his pride and happiness in reaching 100 goals in the English Premier League.

Haaland became the fastest player in history to score 100 goals, as he scored his 100th goal yesterday, Tuesday, in the match in which Manchester City beat Fulham 5/4.

Haaland scored 100 goals in 111 matches, 13 fewer than previous record holder Alan Shearer.

Haaland said about his entry into the 100 Club, in statements published on Manchester City’s website: “It is a huge thing. I am very proud. Of course it is a big thing.”

He added: “The 100 Club is a nice thing to be in, and I’m happy about that. I knew about this record, and this is what I’m trying to do to help the team score goals. This is my job.”

He continued: “I think if you are sitting at home now, you enjoyed that match. It was a chaotic match. Nine goals in one match is a lot. In the end, we won and we are happy, but it is not the best match.”

He stressed: “Every match is different. You cannot think about previous matches. You must look forward. The reality is that we lost to Newcastle and Leverkusen, and now we have won two matches in a row. We must continue. The schedule is difficult, and there are many matches during the next month, match after match, and we are recovering in the best way.”

Commenting on his role as a City striker, he said: “I don’t want to say the word, but when you are a striker for Manchester City, you must provide great numbers. This is my job. People must criticize me if I do not do so. In the end, I must provide the required level.”

After the victory, which narrowed the gap with leaders Arsenal to two points, Haaland made it clear that Manchester City’s focus would be on itself only: “Of course it is important. Arsenal came here and won as well. We know how difficult it is to play in this stadium. Fulham is a great team.”

He stressed: “We should not think too much about Arsenal. We should focus on ourselves and try to develop and avoid what happened today.”
