Khalifa bin Mohammed: Emirati female volunteers are a pioneering national model in giving

Abu Dhabi, 5 December / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Wajib” Voluntary Association, confirmed that Emirati female volunteers constitute a leading national model of giving and dedication, through their efforts that reflect human values ​​and social responsibility, and enhance the sustainability of volunteer initiatives inside and outside the country.

He added that International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5 of each year, embodies the pride and spirit of sacrifice rooted in the sons and daughters of the Emirates, and demonstrates the status of volunteer work as a fundamental pillar of the nation’s strength and renaissance.

His Excellency stressed that the Wajib Volunteer Society continues to empower male and female volunteers through specific programs and influential initiatives that deepen the impact of volunteering, instill noble values ​​and enhance the spirit of community happiness, believing that volunteering is one of the highest forms of loyalty to the nation and its leadership.

For her part, Maryam Al-Ahmadi, Secretary and Board Member of the Wajib Volunteer Society, said that celebrating International Volunteer Day represents a global opportunity to honor the efforts of volunteers and renew commitment to community service, stressing her pride in representing female volunteers during the “Union Day” celebrations, as they embody an honorable model of national giving and the spirit of community responsibility that distinguishes the sons and daughters of the Emirates.

She stressed that the continuous support provided by the association under the supervision of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, constitutes a fundamental pillar for empowering Emirati women and providing them with opportunities to actively participate and make a positive impact through specific programs that enhance the culture of initiative and social responsibility.

She pointed out that the association, as a pillar of civil society, provides sustainable initiatives and field programs linked to national development priorities, and enhances its presence locally and globally, reflecting the vision of the wise leadership.

She added that the association’s accreditation as a community arm of the United Nations in the field of community participation to combat extremism reflects the international community’s confidence in the UAE’s efforts, praising the strategic partnerships with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, which have contributed to training programs and qualitative initiatives to enhance the competence of female volunteers and their readiness for humanitarian and community initiatives.
