The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Indonesia celebrates the 54th Union Day

Solo, 5 December / WAM / The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Solo, Indonesia, organized celebratory activities on the occasion of the 54th Federation Day of the UAE, which lasted for five days and witnessed a high-level attendance and wide public participation.
The ceremony was attended by former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, His Excellency Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of East Timor and ASEAN, and Dr. Sultan Al Rumaithi, Head of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Solo, along with a number of dignitaries and officials in the city.
The program included a group of diverse cultural and social activities, the most prominent of which were Emirati folk arts performances such as Al-Ayyala, Al-Harbiyah and Al-Azi art, which received great interaction from the audience and embodied the cultural blend between the Emirati and Indonesian peoples.
A unique experience of popular Emirati cuisine was also organized, where traditional dishes such as ragag, jabab, mahalla and khmer were prepared and distributed, which reflected the authenticity of Emirati cuisine and the fragrance of its heritage.
In a humanitarian initiative that reflects the societal values of the UAE, the ceremony witnessed the organization of the first mass wedding in Solo with the participation of six grooms of different age groups, whose ages ranged between 23 and 64 years, in addition to the documentation of marriage contracts for families from the city and neighboring regions, with the aim of supporting family stability and reducing the financial burdens on the new couples.
On the sidelines of the celebrations, the center organized a group of educational workshops and recreational activities, including a workshop on making educational games and stories for children, and an art workshop, “Taht Songing Liwayang,” for traditional carving and decoration, in addition to a workshop and exhibition of coffee and medicinal herbs, “Barista Jamu.”
A competition to recite the Holy Qur’an was also held, which lasted for three days, during which the winners were honored at the closing ceremony in the presence of distinguished guests.
The organization of these events comes within the framework of the cultural and civilizational role played by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in promoting understanding and coexistence among peoples, and consolidating the human values that represent the essence of the UAE’s mission.
