"Pioneers" Launches the 13th edition of the initiative "Business stars"

Sharjah, December 6 / WAM / The Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects, “Ruwad”, affiliated with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, yesterday launched the thirteenth edition of its annual initiative, “Business Stars”, within the activities of the 14 Suburbs Festival held in Al Qarayen Park 5, with the participation of 60 entrepreneurial projects for school and university students from within the country, and in cooperation with the Sajaya Girls Foundation of Sharjah. It will last for about 3 weeks with the aim of spreading the thought and culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship and preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs. Pioneers.

The opening was attended by His Excellency Hamad Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Economic Development, and members of the organizing committee. He reviewed the products displayed and heard from the participating students about their entrepreneurial ideas that they seek to transform into initial initiatives and models for small projects that qualify them to enter the experience of self-employment in the world of entrepreneurship.

Al-Mahmoud stressed that the initiative is one of the unique incubators and supportive platforms for school and university students, with the stimulating environment it provides that helps them develop their skills, unleash their creative ambitions, and translate them into pioneering projects.

The current version is distinguished by the fact that it is being implemented for the first time in three successive stages, in which the participating projects are distributed, represented by 120 male and female students from various schools, universities and colleges in the country. The organizing committee allocated the period from December 5 to 11 for projects by groups of school students in the basic education stages (the first and second cycles) for the age group from 10 to 15 years, while the period from December 12 to 18 was allocated for projects for secondary school and university students for the age group of 16 to 21 years old, while the period from December 19 to 25 was allocated to the school and university category and to those affiliated with the Sajaya Girls Foundation of Sharjah.

Fatima Al Ali, acting director of the Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects “Ruwad”, said that the participating students underwent a series of introductory workshops before the launch of the initiative to ensure the success of their participation and enhance opportunities to market their products at the optimal level.
