Abu Dhabi Club leads " Men and youth" In Al Ain Weightlifting Championship

Al Ain, December 7 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club topped the “men’s and youth” competitions in the Al Ain Championship, winning 11 gold medals, at the conclusion of the tournament organized yesterday in the Tahnoon bin Mohammed Stadium hall in Al Qattara, sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and in cooperation with the Al Ain Club.
The Abu Dhabi Club won 11 gold medals out of 14 medals in the tournament, which witnessed the participation of 46 male and female players, including 17 club employees, while the rest of the participants were distributed among a number of centers within the country.
The competition resulted in Ahmed Al-Tamadi winning gold in the 71 kg weight with a total of 235 kg, Mustafa Wahid winning gold in the 88 kg weight with a total of 337 kg, Izz Al-Din Al-Ghafir winning gold in the 110 kg weight with a total of 340 kg, and Moayed Al-Najjar winning gold in the over 110 kg weight with a total of 380 kg.
The club’s players achieved first place in the youth competitions, with Tayseer Al-Qirbi (56 kg), Mustafa Al-Anani (65 kg), Ghaith Al-Hosani (71 kg), Saeed Al-Hajri (79 kg), Khaled Al-Qirbi (88 kg), and Ali Al-Humairi (94 kg) winning.
The women’s 53 kg competition witnessed the victory of Lordana Neruda from the Elliott Center with a total of 138 kg, while Paula Garcia from the Abu Dhabi Club topped the 63 kg category with a total of 164 kg, and Kaylin Coleman (independent athlete) was crowned champion in the 77 kg category with a total of 214 kg, and Nima Abdul Qadeer (independent athlete) won the title over 77 kg with a total of 222 kg.
Mustafa Waheed from Abu Dhabi Club won the best ranking of 5 male players in the tournament, and Islam Abdel-Wafa (an independent player) came second, while the next places went to Abu Dhabi Club players Moayed Al-Najjar, Ezz Al-Din Al-Ghafir and Ahmed Al-Tamadi.
The top 5 women in the overall standings were Eduarda Souza from the Brazuca team, Mayar Abdul Qadeer (independent), Kaylin Coleman (independent), Paula Garcia (Abu Dhabi Club), and Ludwana Neruda (Elliot Center).
The competitions were attended by Khalaf Al Otaiba, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Club Board of Directors, Abdullah Hayy Al Shamsi, Board Member, Nasser Khamis Al Muhairbi, Executive Director, Thani Al Rumaithi, Deputy Executive Director, Khalifa Al Zaabi, Director of Support Services, and Hamad Al Qubaisi and Abdullah Al Noubi from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
