The camel journey continues its historic journey on the pilgrims’ route to Dubai

Dubai, 8 December / WAM / The camel trek, in its twelfth edition, continues its path along one of the most symbolic roads in the history of the region, after passing during the past days a number of stations extending between Nad Al Sheba, Qarn Wakar Al Oqab, Rawdah, Saheb Aziba, Al Hurra, Ramla Bin Maryud and Abdaliyah, all the way to the depths of the ancient desert path that used to connect the Emirates to the pilgrims’ route.
At each stop, the convoy recalls the features of the path taken by our ancestors, in an experience that combines the beauty of the desert with the depth of historical memory.
The convoy covers a distance of 1,050 kilometers on the backs of camels, in the longest route in the history of the trip, as it set off on November 30 from the Al Sila area in Abu Dhabi, and will arrive on December 20 at the Heritage Village in the Global Village in Dubai, concluding one of the most prominent heritage trips in the country.
His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage and leader of the trip, stressed that crossing through the desert is not just a geographical path, but rather a re-reading of the journey of faith and patience that our ancestors lived, pointing out that every step carries a human impact linking the past to the present.
He added that the trip is a cultural and moral responsibility that goes beyond its physical dimension, as it gives participants a deeper understanding of the meanings of belonging to this land.
The path extends over 21 days, during which participants go through an experience that takes them back to the atmosphere of authentic desert life, where they learn the values of patience and dependence on nature, and live the details of the Emirati heritage that has remained present throughout time.
Among the participants, the experience of Emirati pilot Saeed Mohammed Al-Rayes stands out, who chose to move from the skies of airplanes to the camel desert to embody the spirit of Emirati heritage, stressing that he represents his country in a way that reflects the values of cooperation and commitment.
