The Arab Darts Team Championship begins in Sharm El-Sheikh

The activities of the Arab Team Darts Championship were launched in Sharm El-Sheikh, which is held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the patronage of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, within 4 sports tournaments: the fourth Egyptian International Championship, the first Afro-Arab Championship, in addition to the first Egypt International Paradarts Championship in Africa and the Middle East.

These tournaments will continue until December 14 of this year.

 

Dr. Yehia Abdel Qader, President of the Egyptian, Arab and African Darts Federation, confirmed that 220 male and female players representing 23 Arab, African and European countries are participating in these tournaments. These tournaments are the largest event of their kind in Egypt and the Middle East, which reflects great confidence in Egypt’s ability to organize and host the largest international sports tournaments.

 

Dr. Yahya added that the connection of darts with tourism in  The city of Sharm El-Sheikh after the successes achieved during previous years, and this is considered an added value to the national economy of the state.

 

Abdel Qader announced the participation of Dietmer Schumann, a member of the International Darts Federation, as deputy president of the International Darts Federation, accompanied by 21 male and female players, to participate in the international tournament on the one hand, and on the other hand, to prepare a report on the extent of Sharm El-Sheikh’s readiness to host the 2027 Darts World Cup, which will be the largest sporting event in Egypt, Africa, and the East. The Middle East.

 

Abdulqader explained that it is the first time that people with disabilities participate in the Paradarts Championship at the level of the Middle East. The Jordanian Federation also participates for the first time after a team in the State of Jordan.

 

Abdulqader also confirmed that the Arab Teams Championship is attended by 6 countries: Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, the Emirates, Tunisia, and Lebanon. Bahrain apologized for not participating due to members’ obligations. With another commitment, within the 11 members, each member represents his country  In the Arab Darts Federation.

 

Also, for the first time, the Arab Teams Championship is being held, which started this evening, and this tournament is considered one of the strongest darts championships as it expresses the skills of the players in a collective framework.

 

Abdel Qader announced that the International Darts Federation has approved a new geographical region. This region does not include the continent of Africa only, but also includes the countries of Africa and West Asia so that they can join. The Arab countries in the continents of Africa and the countries of West Asia, including also Arab countries, include 72 countries in an area of ​​more than 30 million square meters, which makes this sport not only arithmetic and corrective, but also includes great cultural diversity.
