The President of the International Federation praises the qualitative leap of the Emirati modern pentathlon

The President of the International Federation of Modern Pentathlon, Rob Stoll, expressed his admiration for the great development witnessed by the sport of modern pentathlon in the Emirates despite its recent experience, stressing that the participation of the UAE national team in the World Championships held in South Africa, in the presence of 1,800 male and female players, is an important qualitative leap in the progress of this sport.

Rob Still’s statements came on the sidelines of his meeting with Dr. Hoda Al Matroushi, President of the UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation, during the World Championship activities, as the President of the International Federation expressed his aspiration for more future participations to build a strong generation of Emirati players.

For her part, Al Matrooshi confirmed that the UAE Federation seeks to develop the game locally and internationally, noting the growing interest from sports officials and fans. She said: “We have a good base on which to build for a promising future for the Emirati modern pentathlon.”

She added: “Cooperation with the International Federation will result in future achievements that include referees, coaches, and all elements of the game, noting the federation’s desire to host global events to enhance players’ experiences.”

She also indicated that the UAE national team participated for the first time in the tournament with 6 players: Hamdan Hamad Al-Qaidi, Mohammed Khaled Al-Qaidi, Saeed Omar Al-Ketbi (under 9 years), Dhiab Omar Al-Ketbi, Salem Tamim Al-Ketbi, and Hamid Saeed Al-Ketbi (under 13 years), under the supervision of coach Muhammad Qasim Khalil, to gain experience and exposure to international levels.

Al Matrooshi concluded the meeting with the President of the International Federation by emphasizing her enthusiasm for the future of modern pentathlon in the Emirates, looking forward to more cooperation and successes in coordination with the International Federation and international partners.
