Salah crowns his comeback with a decisive pass in Liverpool’s victory

Egyptian Mohamed Salah crowned his return to matches with Liverpool, with a decisive pass after coming on as a substitute in the first half in the 2-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday in the English Football League, amid applause and support from the audience at Anfield Stadium.
After being excluded from the match in which his team won over Italian Inter Milan 1-0 on Tuesday in the Champions League, and before that he was kept on the bench in the 3-3 draw with Leeds United in the league, Salah sat on the bench against Brighton, but he entered the first half in place of Joe Gomez due to his injury.
The Egyptian star participated in the 26th minute, amid the applause of the crowd and chants of his name, which proves the importance of the striker, who, by providing an assist, became the third most goal-contributing player in the history of the English Premier League (280), surpassing former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.
Only former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney (311) and Alan Shearer (324) surpass Salah in this statistic.
Salah sparked widespread controversy following his statements in which he accused the club of “abandoning” him after he sat on the bench for three consecutive matches, before being excluded from the match with Inter Milan.
Salah replaced Gomez, who participated in the right-back position. He likens his entry with this tactical choice to be a gesture of reconciliation from the coach towards the star striker.
This is Salah’s last match before joining the Egyptian national team to participate in the African Cup of Nations in Morocco, which concludes next January 18.
After Liverpool quickly advanced with a goal by striker Ugo Ekiteke following a pass from Gomez (1), Salah created the second goal for the French player from a corner kick (60).
The assist is Salah’s 89th with Liverpool in the English Premier League, in addition to 188 goals in 302 matches.
It is also Liverpool’s first win in the league after two draws, raising its score to 26 points in sixth place temporarily.
In London, Chelsea recovered and won for the first time after four matches, defeating its guest Everton with two clean goals scored by Cole Palmer (21) and Frenchman Malo Gusteau (45+1).
This is Palmer’s first goal with Chelsea since September 17, after missing 15 matches due to injury and participating in only two previous matches.
Chelsea raised its score to 28 points in fourth place temporarily, while Everton’s score froze at 24 points.
