The Foreign Minister confirms Egypt’s full support for the role of the Palestinian Authority

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, affirmed Egypt’s full support for strengthening the role of the Palestinian Authority and enabling it to carry out its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which contributes to restoring stability, preventing attempts to impose new facts on the ground, and preparing the climate for reconstruction and moving towards a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue.
This came during a side meeting of the Foreign Minister today, Saturday, on the sidelines of a forum. Sir Bani Yas in the Emirates with Nasser Al-Qudwa, former Palestinian Foreign Minister.
The meeting discussed developments in the current Palestinian scene, and the importance of the pivotal role of the Palestinian Authority during the next phase, including consolidating the ceasefire, ensuring the access of humanitarian aid, and creating conditions for the start of a serious political path that leads to the implementation of the two-state solution, and preserves the unity of the Palestinian territories and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
