The Minister of Communications and the Attorney General sign a cooperation protocol to implement 10 digital transformation projects at the Public Prosecution

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Counselor Mohamed Shawky, Attorney General, signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Public Prosecution to implement 10 projects to develop and modernize the digital transformation system in the Public Prosecution, in order to provide services to the public of citizens in a digital manner.

 

The protocol aims to develop the digital transformation systems in the Public Prosecution and cancel cash payment in the Public Prosecution and convert it to payment. Electronically through the use of various electronic payment methods to save time in providing service to citizens, provide databases from the various digital systems of the Public Prosecution and contribute to raising the quality of electronic Public Prosecution services, integration with law enforcement agencies, and educating citizens, members and employees about digital transformation in the Public Prosecution.

 

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that the past period witnessed fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Public Prosecution from During the implementation of a number of projects aimed at employing technology in the governance and development of public prosecution services.

 

 He pointed out that the public prosecution system has become a paperless system through which members of the public prosecution deal in a fully digitized electronic format, making it an example to be emulated in Egyptian institutions, in terms of digitization and the use of technology and its fruitful application. And effective.

 

He added that the digital achievements achieved as a result of this cooperation pave the way towards new horizons for fruitful partnership. He stressed that it was agreed to expand the areas of joint cooperation, to include implementing a project through the Ministry’s Applied Innovation Center, with the aim of using artificial intelligence techniques in the justice system, to assist members of the Public Prosecution in performing their work. About accelerating the implementation of the law enforcement system in all governorates of the Republic in a fully digitized manner.

 

Dr. Amr Talaat pointed to the multiple areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Public Prosecution, which include the Ministry’s affiliated entities, including the National Postal Authority, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the Center for Applied Innovation. 

 

Counsel Mohamed said Shawqi, the Attorney General, said that the protocol that we are inaugurating today came only as an extension of a process of serious work between the Public Prosecution and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which proved that institutional cooperation is capable of changing the reality of public services and that technology is no longer an option but an urgent national necessity.

 

He added: “The past period witnessed clear achievements on which we rely with confidence in our next steps. We developed the Public Prosecution’s electronic portal to accommodate hundreds of thousands of users, We launched modern services for citizens and lawyers until the percentage of digital services increased to 24% of our total services, and we expanded integration with the National Postal Authority so that citizens obtained more than 90,000 documents per month without the hassle of going to the Public Prosecution.

 

We also enhanced the accuracy of our service users’ data through linking with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and controlled judgment data through integration with the civil status system by 98%, and cooperation extended to include 118 Police Department, and criminal courts in a number of governorates, and we have created an advanced digital system for reports and statistics to give us a deeper vision and more accurate analysis of crime rates and aspects of prosecution work.

 

He stated that with the signing of today’s protocol, we open a broader horizon for smarter justice with the launch of public prosecution services, entirely through the Egypt Digital Portal and the expansion of integration via the government digital switch with vital entities, such as the Nasser Social Bank and the National Bank of Egypt. Egypt and the public security sector, automating personal status documents and the work of authorized persons, completing the electronic justice cycle with the Court of Cassation, and preparing to introduce artificial intelligence techniques into the justice system to analyze millions of cases and rulings, which is a transformation that will make decision-making a faster, more accurate and more informed process.

 

He stressed that justice in the new republic will not lag behind its citizens and that state institutions are working with one spirit and one determination to achieve a service worthy of their dignity and trust, and he directed his thanks and appreciation. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has leadership and technical cadres for their sincere support and partnership, stressing that the Public Prosecution is continuing on this path steadfastly and with a firm belief that the future of digital justice begins with this cooperation.

 

The protocol includes the implementation of 7 projects in the field of applications, which is the application restructuring project, by developing all existing applications in the Public Prosecution and applications planned to be developed, which include criminal justice applications, family prosecutions, traffic prosecutions, and personal status applications. The electronic archive project for the Public Prosecution, the project to sustain digital transformation, the project to expand internal digital services for members of the Public Prosecution, and the project to provide electronic services to citizens, which aims to provide a set of services to citizens through Egypt’s digital portal and mobile application.

 

Also, the project to develop a data warehouse and data platform for the Public Prosecution, which aims to develop a unified repository for all databases available in the Public Prosecution to extract analyses, statistics, and decision-making capabilities. Digital.

 

 As well as artificial intelligence projects, which include the use of artificial intelligence techniques to assist members of the Public Prosecution in their work, such as using voice-to-text conversion mechanisms in sessions, and also a project for archiving case documents in the Public Prosecution.

 

The protocol included the implementation of 3 projects in the field of digital infrastructure aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the digital infrastructure to accommodate the processes resulting from the expansion of digital transformation. And training and human development by providing specialized training for workers in information systems management in all fields, training workers on various applications in the prosecution, and organizing specialized training courses for information systems management network engineers.
