Who is responsible for the injury of Jordanian Jewel Yazan Al-Naimat? A serious medical accusation, and Al-Salami defends!

The circumstances of the injury of Jordanian national team star Yazan Al-Naimat during the confrontation with Iraq in the Arab Cup tournament currently being held in Doha sparked widespread controversy in the Jordanian street, amid a conflict of opinions between medical specialists and the technical staff of “Al-Nashama”, before the expected confrontation against the Saudi Al-Akhdar, on Monday (9:30 UAE time), in the semi-finals.

The intensity of anger was heightened by a specialist in orthopedic, joint and fracture surgery in his statement to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai, in which he criticized the way in which the injury was dealt with by the Al-Nashama national team doctor Mahmoud Abu Saud, stressing that “the condition should have been diagnosed from the first moment it occurred,” considering that “allowing the player to return to the field constituted a serious medical error,” stressing that “Al-Naimat’s continued playing contributed directly to the worsening of the injury,” suggesting that it may have been a serious medical error. “It started with a cartilage tear before it later developed into a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament,” noting that “the approved medical protocols require that the player be excluded as soon as it is confirmed that he is unable to complete the match, in order to preserve his safety and prevent the deterioration of his health condition.”

For his part, the Jordanian national team coach, the Moroccan Jamal Al-Salami, defended the national team doctor, refusing to hold him responsible for Yazan Al-Naimat’s injury. He said in press statements: “The doctor did his full duty during the moment of the injury and does not bear responsibility. When he examined Yazan, he knew that he had an injury, but the extent of the injury could not be assessed at that moment, and he asked to be replaced. However, Yazan insisted on continuing to play, and events accelerated at that moment.”

These developments come at a sensitive time for the Jordanian national team, which reserved its place in the semi-finals after defeating the Iraqi national team with a free goal scored by star Ali Alwan from a penalty kick, at a time when the Saudi national team qualified for the same round after defeating Palestine 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

It is noteworthy that Yazan Al-Naimat is one of the most important players in the Al-Nashama team and the Arab Cup, but his injury deprived the fans of his art, and broke the hearts of the Jordanians, while causing coach Al-Salami to cry on live air, affected by the player’s injury, which now requires a qualification period extending between 6 to 9 months, which means that he will not be able to join the Jordanian team in its historic participation in the 2026 World Cup finals, an achievement to which Yazan Al-Naimat contributed greatly.
